Kenshaw sources all brands of electric motors and is a proud agent of WEG and anauthorised distributor of TECO and FASCO electric motors and Bonfiglioli gear boxes.
Turn-key Sales & Installation
We can provide a comprehensive motor turn-key sales service through our expert sales team that has over 20 years’ experience in all major industries. To ensure that you can get your site up and running in case of emergency, we stock a wide range of electric motors starting from 0.18kw up to and including 150kW. In addition to our electric motor stocks, we carry contactors and overloads, DOL starters, variable-frequency drives (VFDs), and Vibrators. We complement our in-house stocks by being able to competitively source and supply products by a wide range of other manufacturers.

Electric Motor Workshop & Repair
Servicing electrical and mechanical equipment is the core of what we do. We are deliberately multi-disciplinary, as we seek to offer a very wide range of services to cater to a wide range of customer needs. Most of our business is repeat business, with three quarters of our clients using our services more than once each year. However, we conduct work on a project basis as required.
We have a team capable of providing an agreed service response time 24 hours a day, 7 days week. Our fleet of vehicles ranges from fully equipped utility vehicles up to 7 tonne trucks.
Kenshaw has two workshops in Cardiff, Newcastle. From these we are able to provide our wide range of products and services to our clients:
Modify and upgrade motor to customer specifications; machining and modifications to shafts and bearing housings, machining for purpose built machines; supply and fit electric brakes AC/DC; tropic proofing, IP rating upgrades.
Kenshaw has over 30 years industry experience in the repair and maintenance of DC machines including rewinds, overhauls and carbon brush maintenance. Our capabilities include; overhauls and rewinds of DC motors; new commutator supply; armature rewinding; rewinds of interpoles and field coils (round wire or sectional copper); commutator profiling; Vacuum Pressure Impregnation.
Kenshaw Electrical offers dynamic balancing using Dyna Balance equipment.

Hazardous Area (Ex) Electric Motors
Kenshaw Electricals’ workshop has been authorised to carry out the repair and overhaul of hazardous area (Ex) Electrical Motors for use in potentially Explosive Atmospheres for the following Protection Types:
- Ex d – Flameproof “d”
- Ex e – Increase Safety “e” – (Group I and II)
- Ex t – Dust Ingress Protection “t” – (Group III).
Kenshaw is certified as an ANZEx service facility and licensed by the NSW Trade & Investments Mine Safety. ANZEx Certification provides independent auditing to ensure all instruments used are calibrated, personnel are competently trained and all work is completed and documented as per AS NZS 3800 standards.
Our Responsible Persons and Operatives (tradespersons) are highly experienced in the relevant protection techniques of explosion protection and are extremely comprehensive when it comes to the certification and repair of your equipment.

Our Motor Management Service is a comprehensive programme that can include all of your onsite motors or just critical spares. One of our experts can help you develop your own MMS, tailored to your business requirements.
24/7 Emergency Breakdown Services
To help you get your motors repaired and back in service, we have a team capable of providing agreed service response times 24 hours a day, 7 days week, and a fleet of fully equipped utility vehicles and trucks that are mine spec compliant.
Additionally, to further minimise your downtime, if you subscribe to the motor management service we can carry your critical spares and hot swap your motor, as we will have it in stock reserved for you, already tested and ready to go to site.
Motor Management Service includes:
- On-site Audit of your motors by experienced technician
- Cataloguing all the motors in a directory including photos, inventory listing
- Subscription to your catalogue online
- Storage and care of critical spare motors or spare parts at Kenshaw

Generator systems design, turn-key sales, installation and all aspects of servicing including emergency breakdown, for prime power and stand-by power needs to regulated Australian Standards.
