Glencore Liddell Coal CHPP

NDT preform monthly Vibration Analysis (VA) on the sites critical Gearboxes, Pumps, Sizers and Conveyor motors.

Example of some faults found during our testing:
  • Vibration Analysis (VA) – NDT technicians caring out scheduled testing discovered Harmonics, indicating looseness/broken tooth, impacting is clearly evident as shown in the time waveform below, evident on the input and 2nd shaft.
  • The gearbox was removed from service with the bellow quote from the client
’We pulled CR142 yesterday due to a leaking seal and during the replacement of the seal the below issue where found. In the recent VA report there was indication of a broken tooth, the tooth was found in the bottom of the gearbox.

Port Waratah Coal Services

Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS) operates one of the world's largest coal handling operations with two terminals Carrington and Kooragang, located in the Port of Newcastle. Carrington Coal Terminal has a shiploading capacity of 25 million tonnes per annup (Mtpa) and Kooragang Coal Terminal has a shiploading capacity of 108 Mtpa. These terminals receive, assemble and load coal from the Hunter Valley for exporting to a number of global customers.
